Bonded Internet™ allows customers to create a highly reliable network using multiple access connections.
Leased-line reliability is finally available at regular broadband prices
Bonded Internet combines Internet links to give you assurance that your Internet connection will be available when you need it, at a price you can afford.
Internet access is to your business as oxygen is to your body: you notice as soon as the supply is interrupted, even if it’s for just a few seconds. Your connection to the online world is key to your success.
Instant failover for both outbound and inbound traffic
Bonded Internet provides the reliability you need. If one of your connections fails, it is removed from the bond immediately with no dropped VoIP calls or data sessions. You only lose the speed of the failed line. You can even eliminate the possibility of downtime cause by an ISP-wide outage by using connections from multiple ISPs.
No IP or DNS changes on failover
Failover is completely transparent. Unlike load balancing services, a line failure doesn’t cause any DNS record changes and has no risk of stale DNS caches causing an ongoing outage for inbound traffic.
No dropped sessions
Bonded Internet detects a failed connection almost instantly- within 0.3 seconds- and removes it from the bond. Your VoIP calls don’t drop, your SaaS office sessions aren’t interrupted, your backups stay current. The only change is a reduction in bandwidth equal to the speed of the failed connection. Since you can use lines from two or more ISPs, you can even eliminate the possibility of downtime caused by an ISP-wide outage. This allows a Bonded Internet connection to match and even exceed the reliability of a traditional leased line.
When a connection is restored, it is added back to the bond within 0.1 seconds.
Check out the VIDEO page for demonstrations of transparent failover in Bonded Internet.
Completely transparent failover
Unlike load balancing services, a line failure doesn’t cause any outbound or inbound sessions to drop. It doesn’t trigger any DNS changes and has no risk of stale DNS caches causing an ongoing outage for inbound traffic. Your services continue to run from the same static IP address.
Backup for your backups
Bonded Internet also supports a single dedicated failover connection, used only when all the other connections in the bond have failed. This is useful to have, for example, a 3G cellular connection as a backup but to avoid its usage-based charges under normal circumstances.
Don’t worry about your bonding appliance hardware, either. Partners use enterprise-class network appliances using widely-deployed, well-tested components. And although it’s powerful, it has very few moving parts at risk of failing.
